The Board of SMA Europe is an active governing body, responsible for setting the organisational direction, procurement and use of resources, providing oversight and evaluation.
Our current Board (2021 &ndash; 2024) consists of five elected representatives of member organisations, currently SMA Schweiz, SMA Belgium, DGM, AFM-T&eacute;l&eacute;thon and SMA Family Foundation Russia, who serve for a period of three years.&nbsp; It is composed of a President, vice-President and Treasurer. In addition, two additional candidates were nominated and elected onto the Board.

Our staff manage our strategic pillars: Research; Therapy &amp; Care; Healthcare Systems, Policy &amp; Access; Capacity Building; Communications and Outreach.
SMA Europe also has a small secretariat, responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation. It is managed by our Operations Manager, who is supported by our Admin and IT Support employee.
